A private-pay behavioral health practice in the Houston Heights, built for adults who want care that is customized around them rather than a one-size-fits-all program. Mental health, trauma, substance use, and process addictions, delivered by master’s-level clinicians.
Clinically Sophisticated. Deeply Personal. Built for Real Life.
Heights Behavioral Health was founded on a simple conviction: adults deserve behavioral health care that is built around them, not slotted into a fixed 30, 60, or 90-day program. We are a private-pay, out-of-network practice in the Houston Heights, which means our clinical decisions are driven by what each person actually needs, not by what an insurance company will authorize. The result is care that feels less like a clinic and more like a private practice that knows your name and your history.
We treat mental health, trauma, substance use, and process and behavioral addictions for adults, and we treat them together when they overlap. Length of stay, intensity, and the modalities we use are all set by clinical need and adjusted as you progress. That is what we mean when we say care is elevated by design and customized around the person.

OUR APPROACH
Care That Is Customized Around You
No two people arrive with the same story, so no two plans should look alike. Care begins with a thorough assessment guided by the ASAM Criteria, then a licensed clinician designs a plan using the level of care and the evidence-based modalities that fit you, including CBT, DBT, CPT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and family systems work. We adjust intensity as you stabilize and bring family in when it helps. Our clinical team brings more than 200 years of combined experience, with specialized training in Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, family systems, and process addiction. We do not promise outcomes. We promise individualized, evidence-based care and complete transparency about cost and coverage.
If you do not see your question here, call our admissions team at (877) 549-5102 and we will walk you through it.
Who do you treat?
Heights Behavioral Health treats adults 18 and older with mental health conditions, substance use, or co-occurring disorders. Care is structured outpatient, so clients live at home while in treatment.
What levels of care do you offer?
We offer a full outpatient continuum: our flagship Individualized Intensive Program (IIP), then Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) on five-day, three-day, and evening schedules, and Outpatient (OP), plus custom service and therapy packages for long-term care. After an assessment, we recommend the right starting point and adjust as you progress.
How does payment work, and do you offer private pay?
Heights Behavioral Health is a private-pay practice with transparent pricing. For clients with out-of-network benefits, we provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Call (877) 549-5102 and our admissions team will walk you through the options
How do I get started?
Call our admissions team for a confidential conversation. We complete a clinical assessment, recommend the right level of care, and can often begin treatment within days.
Do you treat behavioral or process addictions like gambling, sex, love, or technology addiction?
Yes. Process and behavioral addictions are a core specialty at Heights Behavioral Health. We provide structured, judgment-free outpatient treatment for gambling addiction, sex and love addiction, compulsive pornography use, and technology or internet addiction, often alongside the anxiety, depression, or trauma underneath them. Our co-founder is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
Are your therapists licensed, and what are their credentials?
Every clinician at Heights Behavioral Health is master’s-level and licensed. Care is delivered by licensed therapists and individualized through clinical assessment, with leadership from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
Is Heights Behavioral Health a licensed treatment provider?
Yes. Heights Behavioral Health provides licensed outpatient behavioral health care for adults in Houston, Texas. Programming is delivered by licensed, master’s-level clinicians and individualized through a clinical assessment for every client.
Are your treatments evidence-based?
Yes. Our clinicians use evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and CPT, alongside experiential and integrative approaches, matched to what is actually driving each client’s symptoms and coordinated across every level of care.
What is the Individualized Intensive Program (IIP)?
IIP is our flagship level of care: a highly personalized, high-intensity outpatient plan built around you rather than a fixed template. Informed by ASAM levels of care, it moves through three structured phases, stepping intensity down as stability builds, while you keep the same clinical team throughout.
Can I keep working or going to school during treatment?
Yes. Because our programs are outpatient, many clients continue working or attending school. We offer five-day, three-day, and evening IOP schedules so treatment can fit around your responsibilities while still providing real structure.
Do you involve family in treatment?
When clinically appropriate and with the client’s consent, we involve family through education, communication support, and coaching, because recovery is stronger when the people closest to you understand how to help.
Where are you located?
We are located in The Heights in Houston, Texas, and serve the greater Houston area.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA, and we coordinate with family, providers, and referral sources only with your written authorization.
What should I do in a mental health crisis or emergency?
If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in crisis or thinking about self-harm, call or text 988 in the U.S. to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Heights Behavioral Health provides scheduled outpatient care and is not an emergency or crisis service.
