A process addiction is a repeated behavior that becomes compulsive. The behavior may create temporary relief, escape, excitement, validation, or emotional regulation, but over time it can become increasingly difficult to control.
These concerns are not simply “bad habits.” They often involve emotional pain, nervous system dysregulation, shame, secrecy, trauma, anxiety, depression, or co-occurring substance use.
You do not need to wait until everything falls apart to ask for support.
Treatment begins with a confidential assessment. We work to understand the behavior, what triggers it, what consequences it has created, and what emotional or clinical factors may be keeping it active.
At HBH, treatment is not built around shame. It is built around clarity, structure, and care designed for the person in front of us.
Process addiction recovery has to work in real life.
Our outpatient model allows clients to receive structured clinical support while continuing to practice new skills in the environments where triggers and choices happen: home, work, relationships, finances, technology use, and community.
Depending on clinical need, care may include:
Flagship Program
IIP
Our signature level of care: a highly customized, high-intensity plan built around the individual rather than a template. Informed by ASAM levels of care but far more personalized, IIP moves through three structured phases, stepping intensity down as stability builds.
Most Structured
(PHP)
Our most structured standard level, with intensive programming multiple hours per day, several days per week, while living at home.
Flexible
(IOP 3-Day)
A three-day schedule that balances meaningful treatment with work, school, and family responsibilities.
Intensive
(IOP 5-Day)
Focused therapy five days per week for clients stepping down from PHP or who need consistent daily structure.
Continuing Care
(OP)
Lower-intensity weekly support for maintenance, relapse prevention, and sustained long-term growth.
