A Partial Hospitalization Program is the most intensive level of outpatient care offered at Heights Behavioral Health.
Clients participate in full-day treatment programming several days per week while living at home or in a supportive environment. PHP provides a level of structure and clinical engagement that bridges the gap between inpatient treatment and traditional outpatient care.
The goal is to help clients achieve stability while building the foundation for long-term growth and recovery.
Treatment may include:
Every recommendation begins with a comprehensive assessment to determine the most appropriate level of care.
PHP may be appropriate for adults who:
The Partial Hospitalization Program may support adults experiencing:
Mental Health Conditions

Experiential and Skills-Based Work
Clients may participate in psychoeducation, mindfulness practices, emotional regulation training, and experiential therapies designed to support long-term change.
PHP is designed to provide meaningful clinical engagement throughout the week.
While treatment plans are individualized, programming may include up to 30 hours of treatment per week and often takes place Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Services are adjusted based on each client's needs and progress.
The purpose of this structure is not simply to keep clients busy. It is to provide consistent support during a period when stability, skill development, and accountability are most needed.
One of the advantages of PHP is that clients remain connected to real life while receiving intensive care.
Clients return home or to supportive living environments each day, creating opportunities to practice recovery skills, navigate relationships, manage stress, and apply therapeutic tools in real-world settings.
These experiences become part of treatment, allowing the clinical team to help clients adjust strategies and strengthen recovery as challenges arise.
PHP at Heights Behavioral Health incorporates evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches selected according to each client's clinical needs.
Treatment is individualized rather than protocol-driven.
Depending on the individual, treatment may include:
PHP is one level within the Heights Behavioral Health continuum.

The goal is progress, not permanence.
Clients may enter PHP following assessment or transition into PHP after a higher level of care. As stability improves, clients often step down into:
